Usually, “trafficking” refers to the process when another person, who receives economic benefits from this, exploits someone. This is a form of violence, and most often, like other forms, it is applied to women and children.
Most often, exploitation is labor and sexual. Here are the signs they may include,
— exploitation of the prostitution of third parties or other forms of sexual exploitation,
— forced labor or services,
— slavery or practices similar to slavery,
— dependent state
— forced marriage– Extraction of organs.
Yes, there are provisions on human trafficking in the Criminal Code. They are listed in articles 143–1 — 143–3 of the Criminal Code, you can read them here.
On the one hand, in Georgia, prostitution is punishable by a warning, and if the violation is repeated within a year, it is punishable by a fine of up to half the minimum wage.
On the other hand, if it is proved that, the violator has become a survivor of exploitation and receives the appropriate status; she will be released from administrative liability.
