01. Get help

— What to do in case of an emergency?

112 is the emergency telephone number that can be dialed free of charge from most mobile telephones and landlines in order to reach emergency services.

— Do I need documents to call the police?

No. The police must come, even if you do not have documents with you, including those that confirm your registration in the country.

— What should I say to the police?

You need to tell the police or authorities what happened. In addition, you need to tell if they need to provide help to the child – for example, if the child needs police protection or a medical checkup.

— How long will it take the police to come?

In the cities, the police will arrive quite quickly if the address is indicated correctly, while in the rural areas it can take several minutes for the police to reach you.

— What should I do if the police do not come?

Call again the same 112 emergency telephone number.

02. Get medical help

— How to get medical help?

By going to a medical facility that provides emergency medical services and is open 24 hours a day. Emergency medical services are free for foreign citizens and children.

By dialing 112 for medical emergencies and an ambulance will come to the place where a child is and provide medical care or take a child to the hospital.

— What should I say to medical staff?

Try to explain the situation as clearly and in detail as possible, and tell what injuries a child received and what painful feelings he/she has in his/her body.
